Permission Groups & Access Levels in Mission Control

Last updated: March 19, 2026

This article explains how Mission Control's (MC) platform permission levels work for providers and staff. MC uses permissions to determine what users can do, ensuring that everyone can work efficiently and securely while maintaining data confidentiality. Understanding your assigned access level is key to a smooth operational experience.

Permissions are typically assigned based on a few key factors:

  • Provider type (e.g., BCBA, RBT)

  • Role within the organization

  • Clinic ownership or operational responsibilities

Updating User Permissions

If you have Owner or Admin permissions, you can update a user’s permission level directly through Mission Control by:

  1. Navigating to the Staff tab in Mission Control.

  2. Find the user you want to modify.

  3. Click the Edit button (pencil icon) on the far right of their name

  4. Select the appropriate role permission level from the dropdown menu

  5. Click “Save” to apply the changes.

Orbit Permissions:

In addition to base roles, Orbit permissions provide specific feature access. This is a powerful tool to grant feature access to a user without raising their entire role. For instance, an Analyst could be granted a specific feature without becoming an Admin. You can read more on this in our Support Article: Orbit User Permissions.
