SOP: Approving a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) in Rippling

Purpose:
This procedure outlines how to review and approve employee Qualifying Life Events (QLE) within the Rippling Benefits module.


Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log into Rippling and navigate to the employee’s profile.

  2. From the left panel, select Benefits.

  3. Click Enrollments.

  4. Locate the event labeled QLE for the employee.

  5. Review the uploaded documentation supporting the event (e.g., marriage certificate, birth certificate, loss of coverage documentation, etc.).


Documentation Requirements

Documentation must clearly support the requested change in coverage.
Dates must be visible and align with the requested enrollment effective date.


If Documentation Is Unclear

If documents are missing, expired, or unclear:

  • Email the employee requesting clarification or updated documentation before proceeding.

  • Allow reasonable time for response unless the deadline is approaching.


Finalizing the Enrollment

  1. Once documentation is verified and approved, complete the QLE enrollment in Rippling.

  2. Follow up with Owen to confirm the enrollment has successfully processed.

  3. If applicable, request insurance ID cards on behalf of the employee or confirm when they will be available.
