Enrollment deadline: Within 30 days of your hire date
If you do not enroll within this period, you will not have coverage until the next Open Enrollment period
Open Enrollment: Open enrollment will run from April 1, 2026, through April 15, 2026.
Occurs annually
Coverage period for this cycle:
May 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027
Changes made during Open Enrollment apply for the full plan year unless a qualifying life event (QLE) occurs.
How to Enroll
All benefit elections are completed through Rippling.
For Open Enrollment: To start the Open Enrollment process, access the invite from your Rippling Inbox and select Choose Plan, or go to the Benefits tab > My Benefits and click Start. Then follow the guided flow to:
Review available plan options
Add or remove dependents if needed
Select plans (or waive coverage)
Provide required documentation, including Social Security Numbers (SSNs) for dependents (ACA requirement)
Submit your elections before the due date shown in the task or prompt
Changing Your Benefits: Qualifying Life Events (QLEs)
Benefit elections are locked for the entire plan year. However, you may make changes if you experience a Qualifying Life Event (QLE).
What is a Qualifying Life Event?
A Qualifying Life Event is a significant life change that affects your eligibility for benefits or coverage needs. These events allow you to make mid-year changes outside of Open Enrollment.
Common Examples of QLEs
Category | Examples |
Family Changes | Marriage, divorce, birth, adoption |
Loss/Gain of Coverage | Loss of spouse’s coverage, gaining Medicaid/CHIP |
Dependent Status | Child aging out of eligibility |
Other | Death of a covered dependent |
Important Rules for QLE Changes
Changes must be consistent with the event (e.g., adding a newborn to your plan)
Documentation is required (e.g., birth certificate, marriage license)
If you miss the 30-day window, you must wait until the next Open Enrollment

Important Payroll & Tax Considerations
Medical, dental, and vision premiums are typically deducted pre-tax, reducing taxable income
Short-term disability premiums are deducted post-tax
Out-of-network services may result in higher costs, including charges above allowed amounts
Employees on an approved leave of absence will maintain benefit eligibility during the leave period, provided required premium contributions are made.
Upon return, employees must meet applicable eligibility requirements, including minimum hours worked, to continue benefits coverage. If eligibility requirements are not met, benefits may be impacted in accordance with policy.
